About Project GameChangers

We are a grassroots gender empowerment initiative training young women across India to become community leaders through Ultimate Frisbee.

Our Vision

Enable young women to lead positive change through sport.

Our Mission

Project GameChangers is a grassroots gender empowerment initiative that trains young women in India to become community leaders using a unique sport-based platform – Ultimate Frisbee.

We address the underrepresentation of women in leadership by fostering and normalizing assertive qualities in girls, creating a pipeline of confident future leaders across India.

Our Core Values

Empowerment

We believe in unlocking the leadership potential in every young woman through confidence-building and skill development.

Leadership

We foster leadership qualities that enable young women to drive positive change in their communities.

Community

We build supportive networks where young women can learn, grow, and lead together.

Inclusivity

We create spaces where all young women feel welcome, valued, and empowered regardless of background.

Resilience

We develop mental toughness and adaptability through sport and leadership challenges.

Our Story

Coaches in training

Project GameChangers was born from a recognition of the significant gender gap in leadership positions across India. Our founders - 3 women who have played for India and coached the national team, saw an opportunity to address this challenge through Ultimate Frisbee – a sport that naturally builds leadership, strategic thinking, and teamwork.

It began in 2023 with an exchange of ideas with the founders of Ultimate Peace (501c3) - best known for building bridges through sport in the Middle East. Together, we applied for the India Sport Diplomacy grant from the U.S. State Department: to train 100 young women as ultimate frisbee coaches to gain confidence, assertiveness, and leadership abilities that can be transferred to their everyday lives.

In mid-2024, we were awarded the grant from the U.S. State Department to expand our program across India. Since then, through partnerships with 20 NGOs across 12 states, we've been able to reach more than 100 young women, creating a network of emerging leaders who are already making positive changes in their communities.

Since early 2025, we lost funding from the U.S. Government, but we continue our operations through the support of Ultimate Peace and private donors. Today, while facing funding challenges, we remain committed to our mission of empowering young women to become the confident, assertive leaders India needs for a more equitable future.
